Australian FinTech reports that Melbourne fintech RedOwl has raised A$5.3 million in seed-stage funding, led by Tidal Ventures at a pre-money valuation of A$38.4 million, to build an intelligence and governance platform that helps enterprises detect and prevent margin leakage across their supplier costs, customer revenue and business spending.

The round also attracted earlier investors including CP Ventures. RedOwl will use the funding to further develop its platform, roll it out to more large businesses and grow through banking, payments and cloud partners in Australia and international markets.

“Every CFO has to ask: ‘why did we pay for that, or pay that much?’ But the answer usually comes after the money is gone, the margin has leaked, and it’s too late. We built RedOwl to ask that question before payment, when the finance team can still check the details, fix the problem or stop the transaction.”

— Jitto Arulampalam, RedOwl Co-Founder and CEO

The article also covers RedOwl’s work with Mastercard since joining Mastercard Start Path in 2024, its AWS ISV Accelerate status and AWS Marketplace listing, and customers including ASX 200 listed companies Aussie Broadband and Vicinity Centres.

“Finance teams are being asked to make faster decisions across increasingly complex systems, but the context they need remains fragmented.”

— Kieran O’Neill, Principal, Tidal Ventures
